Depart from your hotel and drive along the coast to view some of Phuket’s most beautiful beaches. Stop at an elephant camp and enjoy an incredible elephant trek through a tropical landscape with an opportunity to learn more about the elephants of Thailand. Mid morning arrive Nakkerd Hill where you will visit the stunning Praputtamongkol Eaknakakeeree or “Big Buddha” on thehilltop, from here you can enjoy a marvellous view over Chalong Bay and southern Phuket. A short trip will take you to the famous Wat Chalong, Phuket’s most revered monastery. Enjoy a visit to a traditional cashew nut factory, the smells and taste of these freshly made cashew nuts will for sure make you want to purchase some. Continue to the oldest Chinese temple in Phuket town where you will learn about the Chinese influence on the history of Phuket island. Stop at a 100-year old Chinese mansion (Sino-Portuguese style), where movies such as “Young Indiana Jones” and “Heaven and Earth” were filmed. Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant before visiting a typical farmhouse where a demonstration of how to make rubber sheets from fresh rubber tapped from the plantation, see monkeys fetching coconuts, then experience a buffalo-cart ride. You will also learn about how local farmers plant & cultivate rice.
